Specialist in Pediatric Surgery, Resident in Plastic Surgery in Arcadia Clinic, Full time surgeon. Currently Dr. Varas is a resident of General Surgery in Dubrava Clinic Hospital in Zagreb and is a trainee for Aesthetic Surgery in Arcadia Clinic.

Dr. José A. Varas Fuenzalida was born in Campinas, Brazil and at early age moved with his parents to Santiago of Chile where he attended primary and middle school. His General Medicine studies were done in the Catholic University of Chile (http://www.uc.cl/english/prospectus/), finishing them in the year 2002 with Maximum Distinction. Part of his medical training included research in Pharmacology, presentation of research in several symposia and congresses, an optional Pediatric Plastic Surgery rotation and a stay in Emergency Medicine and Poisoning in Bellevue Hospital in New York University during the year 2002.

His Pediatric Surgery training was done in University of Chile in San Borja-Arriarán Hospital from the years 2003 to 2007 with optional stays in Pediatric Urology in Roberto del Río Pediatric Hospital, Pediatric Plastic Surgery in Luis Calvo Mackenna Pediatric Hospital and Adult Thorax Surgery in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.

Currently he works a staff pediatric surgeon in Arcadia Clinic for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery28 since the year 2008 where he is in training in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. His Medical title and degree of Pediatric Surgeon is recognized by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education (http://www.azvo.hr/en)  and Croatian Medical Board (http://www.hlk.hr/default.asp).

Dr. Varas resides in Croatia since the year 2008 with his wife Natalija and his son Rafael in Zagreb and Daruvar, where also enjoys hobby time in astronomy, cycling and horticulture.
